At QPS Netherlands BV, we are passionate about improving the lives of others through the development of innovative medicines. From our office in Groningen, we conduct early-phase clinical research that helps bring new treatments to market faster—and we’re growing! To keep our operations running smoothly, we are currently looking for a hands-on ICT Support Engineer to strengthen our IT team.

 

About the Role

As our new ICT Support Engineer, you will be the first point of contact for all things tech related. You’ll help maintain the systems and infrastructure that support critical research processes—think installing hardware, solving tricky software issues. This role is especially focused on local PC environments, where no two days are ever the same. You'll work directly with users to troubleshoot problems, train new ICT colleagues or interns, and ensure that QPS stays securely connected and efficient. You’ll report to the Helpdesk Supervisor and play an active role in ICT meetings, bringing your insights and know-how to help drive the department forward.

 

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Provide local ICT support to QPS Netherlands employees

  • Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, software, and peripherals

  • Manage service desk tickets and prioritize tasks through our automated helpdesk system

  • Support fixed and mobile telecom operations

  • Ensure effective data backups and recover data when needed

  • Configure access rights and maintain IT security protocols

  • Train new ICT support engineers and interns

  • Document infrastructure changes and system configurations thoroughly

  • Communicate with third-party vendors for maintenance and support agreements

Job requirements

Who Are You?

  • You have a completed MBO Level 4 education in ICT (or equivalent work experience)

  • You bring 1–2 years of relevant IT support experience

  • You know your way around Microsoft Office and Windows environments, hardware troubleshooting, and virtualization platforms

  • You understand networking basics and IT terminology

  • You have excellent communication skills and a customer-focused attitude

  • You’re logical, cool under pressure, and able to prioritize tasks effectively

  • You’re mindful of confidentiality and handle data responsibly

  • You can work independently and think proactively

  • Strong listening and questioning skills are second nature to you

  • Since this is an onsite role, a local candidate is strongly preferred

Candidates with equivalent experience or commensurate education may also be considered at the discretion of the IT Manager.
