Safety, Health & Environmental Officer (SHE Officer)

What will you do?
As the SHE Officer, you will be pivotal in defining, implementing, and maintaining SHE (Safety, Health, and Environmental) policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with legal and company requirements. Collaborating with various departments, you will create a safe and sustainable working environment for all employees and stakeholders. Your responsibilities will include:

• Develop and implement SHE policies, standards, and procedures in collaboration with operational management.

• Create and oversee the annual SHE plan.

• Support operational management in maintaining compliance with legal and internal requirements.

• Coordinate risk assessments and oversee safety programs (biosafety, chemical hygiene, waste management, and lab safety).

• Conduct SHE audits, evaluate incidents, and implement corrective measures.

• Deliver SHE training for employees and coordinate annual fire drills.

• Stay updated on SHE legislation and ensure company compliance.

• Act as a liaison with SHE agencies, emergency services, and other relevant stakeholders.

Who are you?

You have strong knowledge about safety regulations, hazard analysis, emergency procedures, hazardous materials, risk analysis and management, technical knowledge. You have strong time management and collaboration skills; you can work independently and are pro-active. You can proactivity assess processes and are able to take the lead or propose necessary process improvements.

You have Experience with internal audits and assessments.

You speak fluent English since this is required for all application materials and daily tasks. You have excellent communication skills and are able to engage effectively with all levels of the organization in an approachable and clear manner. Lastly, you have strong (English) writing skills and are able to create professional SOPs, training materials, and other related documents.

Education and Experience:

We are looking for someone with Secondary Vocational Education Level 4 (MBO 4) or equivalent experience (candidates with extensive relevant experience but different educational backgrounds may also be considered). We are looking for someone with at least 3 years of experience in a relevant SHE role, ideally in a clinical trials lab or related setting. Experience in a regulated industry is key.

We provide a full-time position of 32-40 hours per week for at least one year (after one year, there may be an opportunity for extension).  Further, you will work in a cutting-edge bioanalytical facility, collaborating with a team of dedicated professionals in a supportive work environment, to contribute to meaningful SHE initiatives that protect people and the environment.
